Cabazon Chapter Ride - 5/28/11

14 Bikes and 18 People met for the Chapter Ride to Cabazon on Saturday 5/28/11.  We were happily surprises because we expected a small number on the Memorial Day Weekend.  In fact, if just the people who related that they would like to go but had other holiday plans had showed up, we would have likely had over 30 people.  Wow! 

Those who gathered at Pacific Motorsports for the ride were Bill Rotberg, Mike Joyce, Jim and Diane Holland, Don Thomas, Kevin Tominaga, Frank Alvarez, Fred Lara, Julio Valles, Eduardo and Gabby Perez, Larry Yang and Nicki Chan, Don and Wendy Gilley, Tony Mayfield and Kelly Webb and Bob Lopez.   From the gathering throughout the ride by Lake Matthews, through farm and dairy land and into the dessert we had fun.  We enjoyed each other's company at lunch and had a great time on the ride back to the coast and up the coast to home.  I keep stressing the fun because that is what the ride was. This ride was fun because of the great route and because of the all the joking and laughter.  However most of all it was fun because we like each other.  What a wonderful thing to have, a group of people who like each and enjoy our collective and individual selves.  Awesome...and fun.  No wonder we had 18 people on a holiday weekend.  

Oh, and the next time you see Larry and Nicki and Eduardo and Gabby, be sure to congratulate them on their new membership.  Congrats to all of you!  We know you are a great addition to our chapter.

I hope you ALL can make the ride to Big Bear on Saturday 6/25/11.  We want to enjoy your company also!

What a great pleasure to have Bill riding on this ride with Chapter 415, where we think he belongs!   Having him there made the ride better.   Here is what Bill wrote abou the ride:

The ride was fantastic...from the the meet at PacMo to the end of the ride. The The ride was fantastic...from the the meet at PacMo to the end of the ride. The comraderie, welcome & positive energy was a warming invite...I didn't want to leave! 

I was very impressed with the ride's organization & all the officers. Each officer took charge and performed their duties making the membership comfortable and informed. I was expecially impressed that the officers did vision safety checks on the bikes for the safety of the group! AWESOME! While everybody was checking in, the officers happily mingled with the members and performed their duties. Everything was organized and done seamlessly. The ride safety & preview was great! Everything was spelled out and direct.

The ride itself was really nice. I had a blast hanging out in the back watching the 2 groups riding. It was well organized, relaxed and the hand signals were were very well played and passed on through out the group. When cars or obstacles got in the way, no one panicked, they just dealt with it and safely got back to the group. A relaxing & fun ride. 

Even when there was a change in the route back home, the crew did well and it started another fun journey to get back. ! :)) For me, it showed the officers enjoy what their doing and are flexible can take any challenge and still keep it fun. For me, it was the BEST part of the ride! It all worked out and it all made a GREAT ride! GREAT WORK! or should I say..."TOTALLY AWESOME!"
